Help Us Help Ryan This Saturday, November 1st!!
Meet Ryan Sabin. He’s a sweet, adorable four-year-old from Cary, NC, who suffers from Dravet’s Syndrome. Dravet’s Syndrome is a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy, that causes Ryan to have up to 30 to 40 seizures a day. These seizures are life threatening and occur randomly, without warning, leaving his mother very little time to administer life- saving medication to his little body. There is currently no cure, and very little treatment for Dravet’s Syndrome.
Fortunately, Ryan can be helped by a service dog. These specially trained animals can sense the onset of a seizure and alert Ryan’s caregivers before any physical symptoms arrive. This gives Ryan more time to receive the life-saving medication he needs and decreases the amount of damage these seizures can do to his little body. The dogs are also trained to support Ryan during a seizure, so he doesn’t fall and sustain any other type of injury. A dog like this could truly be a blessing to this family’s life.
On Saturday, November 1st, Phillips Farms will donate a portion of the proceeds from every adult admission purchased during daytime and haunted operations to Ryan’s GiveForward fund. We hope you’ll come out to the farm, enjoy all we have to offer and know that your visit helped a sick little boy get the companion he needs to drastically improve his quality of life.
